Dear Members,

Welcome to an exciting new year at Wearside Golf Club! 2024 was a fantastic year for the club, and I'd like to start by congratulating the Gents, Ladies, and Junior teams on their exceptional seasons. A special mention goes to our Club Champion, Howard Walton, who played brilliantly during the Club Championship weekend and is, without a doubt, a deserving winner.

I would also like to express my gratitude to Sean for selecting me as his Vice-Captain. I hope to build on the great work he has done over the past year.
If you haven’t had the chance to dust off your clubs yet this winter, I encourage you to get down to the course soon. Thanks to Danny and his team, the course is in great shape this winter, thanks in part to the introduction of the mats.

I’m pleased to announce that Craig Mathieson has accepted the role of Vice-Captain for 2025 and will transition into Captain in 2026. Craig has been a valued member of Wearside Golf Club for several years, and I’m sure you’ll agree he is well-suited for this position. Please join me in congratulating Craig, as well as Elliot Patterson (Senior Captain), Gillian Patterson (Ladies Captain), and Alex Gordon (Junior Captain) as we move into the new season.
