What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. Most websites use them. Some are strictly necessary to make the site work; others are used for tracking, analytics or advertising.
This site only uses strictly-necessary cookies. We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising networks or any other tracking. There's nothing here that follows you around the internet.
The cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID |
Standard PHP session — used very briefly to keep you connected to the server while a form is being processed. | Until you close your browser |
ws_admin |
Set only when a club staff member signs in to the bookings or halfway-house admin pages. Marks the browser as authenticated. HttpOnly + secure. | 7 days, or until the staff member signs out |
Your privacy choices
Because we only use strictly-necessary cookies, no consent banner is legally required under the UK's Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). You can still block cookies in your browser settings if you'd prefer — the site will continue to work but staff admin sign-in won't.
How to manage cookies in popular browsers:
Local storage
Some pages use the browser's local storage (a separate mechanism from cookies) to remember small preferences — for example, the Halfway House order form remembers your name so you don't have to type it again on your next round. This data lives on your device only and is never sent to us.
Third-party services
The course-status modal pulls weather data from Open-Meteo, a public weather API. They don't set cookies and don't track visitors.
That's the only external service called from your browser. The chatbot, booking forms and email notifications all run server-side — no third-party JavaScript, no embedded trackers.
