The Club

2026 Season

Club Captain's Welcome Address

Dear Members,

It is a great honour and privilege to welcome you all to the 2026 golfing season as your Club Captain.

I am really looking forward to the year ahead and to representing our club, its traditions, and most importantly its members. Our club has a proud history built on friendship, sportsmanship, camaraderie and a shared love of the game, and I hope 2026 will be another enjoyable and memorable year for everyone. I have been a member of the club for 21 years and I can not remember the greens being as good for so long over the season, credit to Danny and his team.

I would like to thank the outgoing Captain Alan Rutter for his hard work and dedication. I look forward to working closely with the committee, staff, and volunteers throughout the year. My Vice Captain is Drew Oliver who is a very well respected and longstanding member at the golf club. Together, we will continue to support the club, the members, all of the teams encourage participation in competitions and social events, and ensure that our Club remains welcoming to members of all ages and abilities. Please join me in congratulating John Watson (Senior Captain), Helen Ross (Ladies Captain) and Oscar Hancill (Junior Captain).

Whether you play every week or simply enjoy the social side of club life, I hope you will feel encouraged to get involved and make the most of everything the club has to offer this season.

During my Captaincy, I am proud to be supporting Niemann-Pick Disease UK, a charity very close to my heart. I would like to thank members in advance for their support of the fundraising events planned throughout the year.

I wish you all good health, good company, and plenty of good golf in 2026. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible over the coming months.

Yours sincerely,

Craig Mathieson
